Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic singer, composer and performer. The singer combines soul gospel jazz and R&B to create a unique blend. The singer has worked everywhere from Broadway to The Democratic National Convention to the European club and festival scenes. Sunshine's real name is Denise White. Although she lives in Atlanta, she originates in Chester Pennsylvania where she began the musical path by singing and playing the piano in churches. She attended Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her journey into music within the city's R&B scene. The Fighting Temptations The single featuring her voice, Stalk You A House 12, was only released in Japan. It has been remixed many times, and is the mainstay of her live show. Her voice also appeared in the music video for The Fighting Temptations. The band was hired as the main keyboardist of Tyler Perry's stage play Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award-winning performer) offered her a position as choral conductor of Dreamgirls in Atlanta for the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was the subject of national media attention due to her 4 performances a day during the Democratic National Convention in 2008. Sunshine was chosen to perform at President Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony in 2009.
